Julia and Blake’s Milestone Mansion wedding in Dallas felt deeply joyful and full of grace. It was a day that reflected not only their love, but the community and people that surrounded them. The Milestone Mansion, with its timeless Southern architecture and elegant white façade, was the most beautiful wedding venue for their faith-filled celebration.
As Dallas wedding photographers, being invited to capture any wedding is always an honor. But this one was extra special because Julia has known Adam since high school, and photographing her day felt like coming full circle! There was an ease and trust from the couple that made our jobs so much fun, and was something we truly appreciated.
Documentary Style Wedding Photography
Julia shared early on that she was a little nervous about being the center of attention. She wanted someone behind the camera who understood her, who could make her feel comfortable, and who would let the experience feel natural instead of posed. That trust meant everything to us, and it shaped the way we photographed their day.
Beyond the photos, what matters most to us is helping our couples feel at ease so they can be fully present on their wedding day. It was a privilege to capture candid moments of her day in our documentary style that reflected such a beautiful celebration.
A Heartfelt Ceremony at The Milestone Mansion
The ceremony took place inside The Milestone Mansion in Aubrey, surrounded by light pouring through the tall windows behind the couple. There were prayers, laughter, and joyful tears as Julia and Blake exchanged vows before their closest family and friends. It was a celebration that felt sacred and personal, which are our favorite weddings to be a part of!
The chapel and grounds at The Milestone Mansion are peaceful and beautiful, featuring so many little corners that are perfect for portraits. Some of our favorite photos of the day were taken right in front of the mansion, with the classic estate architecture framing them perfectly.
The Celebration That Followed
If the ceremony reflected reverence, the reception was pure joy! Later in the evening, Julia and her dad surprised everyone with an unforgettable father-daughter dance, both wearing Blues Brothers-style sunglasses. At one point, her dad knelt in the middle of the dance floor, and Julia ran across the room, rolling over his back to cheers from the entire crowd! He then lifted her off the floor and carried her straight into Blake’s arms for their first dance as husband and wife. It was one of the most iconic father-daughter dances we’ve witnessed and one we’ll never forget!
