A Joyful Wedding Weekend at The Flanders Hotel in Ocean City
Hannah and Thomas’ wedding at The Flanders Hotel in Ocean City, New Jersey was one of those wedding weekends that felt incredibly full! Full of meaning, joy and presence with loved ones. From the rehearsal dinner to the final moments jumping into the Atlantic Ocean, it was a celebration that we’ll never forget.
The Flanders Hotel is one of the most recognizable wedding venues in Ocean City, New Jersey, and it was the most amazing setting for their wedding weekend. Historic architecture, coastal charm, and an elegant ballroom were just some of the spaces that elevated such a genuinely fun wedding and couple.
It was more than a gorgeous coastal venue at The Flanders Hotel that made their wedding special. It’s always the couples themselves who shape our favorite weddings. Hannah and Thomas invited everyone to celebrate with them, and they trusted us completely. That trust made us even more excited to go the extra mile and make sure every moment of their wedding weekend reflected the depth of their relationship.

For Hannah and Thomas, they started their weekend with a rehearsal dinner at Josie Kelly’s Public House. Getting to stay in the same area, it flowed naturally into a relaxed wedding morning. It meant spontaneous moments in the jitney on the way to the ceremony. It meant stepping outside for portraits with the ocean in the background before returning to a ballroom filled with live music and celebration.

A Full Wedding Weekend
We arrived, as we always do, the day before their rehearsal dinner. When travel is involved, we intentionally build in time to account for scouting, settling in, and anything unexpected that could arise. It’s a small detail, but it’s so important to us that our couples always feel they have the complete care they deserve from start to finish. For Hannah and Thomas, arriving early meant we were able to fully step into their wedding weekend from the very beginning, and even manage a few extra personal touches.
The afternoon before the rehearsal dinner, we found ourselves walking through the charming downtown area of Ocean City grabbing coffee when we unexpectedly ran into Hannah! She was glowing with excitement, sharing little updates about the weekend ahead. In that same conversation, we learned that her mom owns a local thrift shop that supports cancer patients facing financial burdens. Without hesitation, we knew we had to visit.
Inside her mom’s shop, we searched for small pieces to integrate into Hannah’s detail photos, something meaningful and personal. We found a delicate tea cup saucer that became the perfect ring dish, and a jar of shells that echoed her postcard-style save the dates that read, “Meet You at The Jersey Shore.” It felt like a great way to document and honor her mom’s heart and work within the story of their wedding weekend. We even had the chance to meet her mom, who was faithfully working the weekend of her daughter’s wedding. That kind of dedication says a lot about a family and their character.
Later that evening, before the rehearsal dinner at Josie Kelly’s Public House, we captured sunset drone images of The Flanders Hotel and its surrounding coastline. We knew the wedding day timeline would be full of its own moments, and we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to document the setting that held so much of their story. Photographing the venue the night before allowed us to capture every detail and make sure nothing was overlooked.
A full wedding weekend creates space for moments like these. Not rushed. Not squeezed between events. Just intentional time to document the setting, the relationships, and the anticipation before the celebration fully begins!
Joy-filled, meaningful celebrations are what we love most. Julia and Blake’s Milestone Mansion wedding in Dallas was no exception, see their full day here on the blog.
Ocean City New Jersey Wedding Day Highlights
Their wedding day at The Flanders Hotel in Ocean City carried all the momentum and energy that had been building throughout the weekend. It was such a joy to capture it all!
Hannah and Thomas chose to include seven first looks throughout the day. Not just with each other, but with family and friends who had walked closely with them through different seasons of life. It was a very intentional way to share sweet moments with the ones close to them.
The ceremony itself was emotional and meaningful, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room after Hannah walked down the aisle. The floral installation by Calla Floral Atelier was an absolutely gorgeous work of art that completely elevated the already beautiful hotel.
Before the reception, we headed out to the beach to take portraits. The sunset put on a beautiful show for us that night, and we were able to capture the most beautiful photos of Hannah and Thomas.
Back at The Flanders Hotel, the celebration grew. The ballroom shifted from elegant ceremony space to a packed dance floor, especially once the Goody Blue Shoes Party Band took the stage. At one point, Hannah and Thomas joined the band on stage, singing and dancing with their closest friends gathered around them.
And then there was the finale.
After their sparkler exit and a send-off in a traditional Ocean City surrey, a group of guests followed them toward the beach. What began as an idea mentioned earlier in the weekend turned into nearly thirty people standing at the shoreline under the night sky. About half of them ran straight into the freezing Atlantic Ocean!
Hannah and Thomas didn’t hesitate.
Having friends (and a wedding photographer!) who were willing to step into the ocean without a second thought made for the perfect end to was the kind of ending that felt perfectly fitting for their wedding weekend at The Flanders Hotel. It was absolutely unforgettable.
